- Does my child have to take all of the classes or can I
pick and choose?
|
- You do not have to sign your child up for all of the
classes in his/her grade. You may pick and choose.
|
|
|
- The parent is the teacher. Virtual Home Room is simply a
tool to help you and your child stay on track with studies.
However, if you have a question about the material, you may
email the director. We will do our best to answer your
questions.
|
- How much of the program is online?
|
- The student should check the online study schedule every
day. Some days he will be assigned an online activity that
relates to the information he is studying. These activities
take only about 10 minutes. Each of the tests and quizzes are
to be taken online as well. The quizzes take about 5 minutes
and the tests take about 20 minutes. All reading assignments
are done off-line.
|
- Is Virtual Home Room part of the Abeka program?
|
- No. Using Virtual Home Room does not give
your child credit with the Abeka program.
|
- What do we do if our family goes on vacation?
|
- The Study Schedule is written so that the tests and
quizzes are available until the Sunday evening of the week that they
appear on the schedule. If you know that you will be on
vacation, have your child work ahead.
|
|
|
- Yes. Your child can get as far ahead as he
would like. In fact, it is suggested that students work at
least one week ahead. You never know when something unexpected
will come up.
|
- What do I do if I think a question on a test or quiz is
not fair?
|
- If you think a question is unfair, confusing or unclear,
simply email the director and your child will receive credit
for that question.
|
- What do I do if there is a mistake on a test or quiz?
|
- The director writes all of the questions for the tests and
quizzes. With this quantity of questions written there will
inevitably be
some mistakes. We ask that if you find a mistake that you
email the director so that your child can receive credit and
the mistake can be fixed.
|
|
|
- On occasion you may see a "Page Not Found" message when
trying to take a test. If this happens, please email the
director and the problem will be worked out quickly.
- Make sure that you have the latest Netscape browser
installed in your computer. The tests and quizzes are written
in the javascript language and some of the older versions will
not read the language. To test this out click on the "Study
Schedule" link above then click on some of the sample quiz
links. If you are able to complete these quizzes and get a
proper score, than your browser software will work fine.
